It is a 2004. I have just ordered a k&n air filter and a yoshimira full exaust system. I am planning on getting new rings along with totoally cleaning out the carb. I think I am just going to tear into the motor (very carefully) and replace what needs to be replaced. I heard that changing the exhaust cam is a huge benefit in the way it runs and its performance, is that true?
Thanks

If it hasn't already been done, retarding the exhaust cam 1 tooth gives the same timing as on the dirtbike motor. This mod gives you as much or almost as much power as an aftermarket cam, but costs you nothing. Drag racers and those looking to heavily build the motor might benefit from a different cam, but the majority of us won't. The other benefit is that if you don't like the power output or can't feel much of a difference, it is easy to go back to stock again.
