Default 2003 grizzly axle problem

I have a 2003 grizzly with 700 miles on it and I've heard of this claim of the 2003 grizzlies having axle problems. I have not yet experienced this problem. I have noticed some threads on this problem and I was wondering should I be worried. How many of you all have had this problem and how never never had it. has anyone else with a 2003 worry about this. thanks

Default 2003 grizzly axle problem

I have 2 different 2003 Grizzlies with 4000 and 3500 miles on them and have replaced 3 rear axles so far. It was always the outer CV joint that failed. I have always used stock axles to replace the broken ones but they seem to be holding up OK. I have one more to go and maybe that will be the end. Other than the broken axels, I have thougholy enjoyed my grizlies. I ride them on the Piute trails, climb the jeep trails in Moab and ride the dunes at St Anthony. I only wish they had more power for the dunes.

Thanks, thats alot of miles. what happens when one goes bad? But I now see were every year someone has this problem. I hear of some riders replacing them if they are not bad I guess they are being careful.

I replaced my rear outer joint with a gorilla knuckle joint. It costs a third as much as it costs to have the shop install another stock joint. Its a little messy, but, simple. The gorilla also claims 40% stronger too.

I too have had CV joint failures. While searching through Ebay I was blessed to find Dan the CV Man.

Give Dan a call 301-948-4326, or, look at his site TheCVMan.com.
