Raptor/Banshee paddle tires
#1
I'm going to be getting a Raptor in the near future. A friend has a set of Cheng Shin Duneslider paddles and wheels off of a 2000 Banshee that I am considering buying.
Two questions though,
Will the Banshee Wheels fit the Raptor?
How do the duneslider paddles compare to other V paddle tires, ie. Edge, Sand Skate II, etc.

I have sandskate II's and dunesliders. The dunesiders are VERY heavy, but are tough if you will also ride in gravel/rocks etc. The dune sliders are on a 98' warrior and work o.k. for that bike. I'm sure there are better tires out there for a Raptor. Call Scat trac and Sandtires Unlimited.

Don't know about the wheels swapping. You could call your local Yamaha dealer, tell them the years of both and they could tell you if the bolt patterns are the same or not. Earlier Banshees' had a wider pattern than the recent models. As for the tires, the Dune sliders paddles are not as tall as the Skate II's and so are less agressive.
Rude Dog.

As already stated, the 2000 Banshee wheels will fit. My friends and I swap around tires all the time trying to find the best for our machines. We ride mostly in deep sugar sand, and I love holeshoting the Banshees with Sand Skate IIs. They're always suprised! I tried the Kenda Trackers once, don't recommend unless you do have hard, rough turf. Some of the guys like straight dune paddles, as they seem to dig better on the vertical intracoastal walls, where starting space is very limited. The same guys say the straight paddles affect slide turns, so it's a trade off. Beware the attached paddles, ie Scats, they will come off if you hit buried obstacles.
