Check all your connections, its probably a short in the wiring somwhere. Maybe you need a new fuse.

How long has it been doing it? When did it start? Any additional info, like if it happened after you washed it, could help find an answer.

Well, if the ATV is still working ok in forward and reverse when you move the lever, it's simply the switch sticking or shorted on the reverse linkage.

In actuality, it wont hurt a thing except leave the light on.

It getting brighter is normal when the altenator generates more voltage off of idle.

It started when I was riding and I put it in reverse then it never went off not even when i switch to neutral. And now I have to pull the clutch in every time i start it in nuetral. Do you know where the fuse, switch, or wire is that needs to be replased. thanks.

Most likely your problem is a shorted wire somewhere, not the reverse sensor itself. The reverse sensor is on the left side of the engine above the sprocket, it looks sort of like a bolt with a wire connected in the middle. To check the sensor, simply unplug the wire, unscrew the sensor with a socket wrench, and inspect it. The end of it should be spring loaded, and easily push in and pop back out. Just be careful when you put it back in, don't do like I did and overtighten it, they are VERY soft and easy to break, and cost like 20-30 bucks if you have to replace it.
