Default Wolverine Oil Leak

Hey guys, midway thru a ride on Wolverine Saturday I noticed oil on top of the engine case. Not sure where it's coming from, the gasket between the cases or where the starter goes into the case. It appeared that oil had sprayed since it was on the bottom of the carb which I thought was strange. Checked the oil and it did not appear much oil had leaked out. Anyone had their Wolverine leak oil in this area? Thanks for any input.

Pictures would be helpful. More than likely its a head or stator gasket from what ive gathered. Check out this link and see if you can find the prob.

I'm willing to bet it's gear oil. Pull off your seat and look where the diff. vent lines are by the airbox intake.

I would also bet on the Rear End oil vent line. The cooler it gets outside, the more gear oil they start to spew. There have been a couple other lengthy posts on here talking about this and several different remedies.

Thanks for the reply guys. Believe it's the rear end or front diff as they were both changed before this ride.

Hey tdragano, do you ever make it over to Eastern Kentucky to ride?

Hey L8Braker...

No, I have not ridden anywhere in Eastern KY...doesn't mean I wouldn't want too. I like riding in new places.

What is the name of any riding areas over there?

We ride at Wind Rock... a.k.a. Coal Creek, in Oliver Springs, TN (just outside of Oak Ridge, TN). 75,000 acres of riding. Only about 30 min. from the house.

Have you ever done Hatfield & McCoy. I want to plan a ride there, hopefully next year.

I see this is really old. but did you ever figure it out, as I have a similar issue...it seems to be coming from the seam directly in the middle of the engine, not the diff vents.
