You cant get very big air with stock shocks on a banshee.Plain and simple, stock sucks!A 400 ex has better stock suspension but you lose a power for that trade of.And yes i have lots of pics of banshees jumping.Email me if you want them.

The stock shocks are pretty good for moderate trail riding. Anything over 7-8 feet (at speed) and you will be bottoming out and caseing the engine. The 400ex rides rougher for trail riding, but does'nt bottom out as easy on the jumps.

It doesn't depend on how good one machine jumps. It's about how chicken you are (or "gutty"). I'm saying because you compare a 400EX and a banshee, 2 high performance machines that were designed FOR jumping and riding hard. When you consider machines like those, both will be "good", and when you consider on jumping very seriously or racing, aftermarket shocks will be necessary, whether for the 400, or the shee. Again, I'm talking about the few real sports quads. The scrambler isn't a real sports quad. Yes it's fast, yes it's comfortable, but the suspension does have trouble dealing with the 600lbs or so of the beast, and for having ridden one some times, there are lots of things I do with my shee, that I wouldn't attempt with the scrambler (jumping especially, and bumps also).

The argument that the Banshee has bad handling or crummy suspension just doesn't hold water with me. It is not quite as good as the 400EX, but it is far from bad. I was riding with 2 400EX's and two Banshee's yesterday, one of which was mine. The Banshee's were doing all the jumps that the EX's were. The other Banshee had a rider of about 130 or 140 lbs and it was obvious that his suspension was working better for him than my 210 lbs on my Banshee. Bottom line, get what you want and modify the parts that don't work for you.

I have a banshee and it lands very very hard off big jumps. I also have a 400EX with works front and rear canister suspension. the EX is much better at landings. It also feels better off the jump. I have also heard that a 250R is the best machine for jumping that was ever made.

I like jumping my banshee and it seems very easy to jump...gets scary sometimes when you hit the powerband real hard on the face of a jump. but overall i think it lands good but aftermarket shocks would definatly help out.

Hey me (on a 400) and my neighbor (on a banshee) always go riding at his grandpas farm and he has a good sized jump up their and we took pictures on saturday of us jumping, so i should get them back soon. Anyways, he jumped about 8 feet further than me last time but he also managed tu jump over the landing ramp and racked himself pretty bad on the gas tank and hit his head on the handle bars
(he was wearing a helmet though) any way, I just normally shoot for the landing ramp, and if you hit it ride you should just slide down the rest of the hill, the only time you really need aftermarket shocks is when you never hit the landing area. The jump is about 55-62 feet to hit the landing ramp and he went about 70. oops
