I just put a new spark plug in hoping that it was something stupid like that (it didn't help). Just to refresh everybody of my problem. The quad runs fine in low range up to about 3000rpm. In mid and high range the quad starts poping and sputtering, fuel starts shooting out the back of the carb and I just noticed that the exhaust gets pretty dark. I also checked over the wiring and all seems good. I don't know what to do next.

My best guess is that your stator is on it's way out, and then when the engine gets hot the metals in it expand and move just enough to short it out. That's just my $0.02 though.

I just jetted my warrior with the 155 and 1/2 turn out but cant fig out how to get the needle out. Does it take a special tool? It looks like a special hex screw driver is needed or am i looking at the wrong things to take out?

All you need to change the needle settings is a philips screwdriver to get to the needle, and a pair of pliers to move the clip on the needle. I can't think of what may have a special screw head on the stock carb.

are you suppose to remove the two small phillips head screws next to the spring? how do you get the throttle body, the thing that raises the needle out of the way?

It's been a while since I had my stock carb apart, I sold it a year ago when I got the edelbrock. I think what I did was loosen the philips head screw on the end of the lifter arm, so that it would pivot loosely on the shaft. Then I used my finger to push the slide up all the way from the inside, and while I held it there I loosened the 2 screws that hold the plastic needle retainer to the slide. You'll have to remove the plastic side cover from the carb and push the shaft back in to get the lifter arm's set screw back in position when you're done.

Sounds like you need to richen it up, that means move the needle down a notch (towards the tapered end of the needle)

Ok, latest update... Let me recap, I am running a Whitebrothers slip-on, K&N air filter. I just upped the jet from 145 to 155 with the clip on the very bottom toward the tapered point. A/F screw 1/2 our and tried several setting with the A/F screw and it is still popping when I floor it. It idles good and putts around the yard good but when you get on it, it pops. Should I go up one on the needle setting it on the second clip up from the tapered end? I think the gas has soaked into my brain form taking that carb off so many times.
