Breeze???

I had taken out all the restrictor plates, intake and exhaust, as well as fine tuning the jetting. It runs pretty good. My son is almost 10 and he is a tall little guy and his knees almost hit the handle bars on the 50. He has only ridden the breeze one weekend of camping, but he loves it! Might as well hold onto the 50, your young-un will be able to ride it before you know it. I do not have any more kids, so I am getting rid of our 50.

I got a new nut and lock washer for the drive sprocket last week and put it on. Pulled out the choke hit the start button and she fired right up, after running for a short time with the choke out it starts to rev really high so I pushed the choke in gave a little gas and she wanted to bog, back out with the choke few seconds and she revving real fast. Kept playing with it to get her warmed up and then she cut off tried for a while to recrank her but she wouldnt hit a lick. I pulled the plug and it looked good put the plug back in and she still wont crank. Checked fuel goin to carb and there was a good flow. Had to leave, came back next day and same thing still wont crank. Has anybody had this happen to them or know what I need to look for? I just got a shop manual for it and am planning on checking the valves as soon as I can get back to it, could they be the problem? Is the "special" Yamaha valve tool required to adjust the valves are can you get by with something else?
I know a lot of questions but man I need some HELP!
Thanks

It could be other things but this is what I would do first.
Actually I would give it a shot of ether and see if it tried to start. If so go to the carb first.

Doc, hopefully I will be able to go look at the Breeze in a few minutes (when my wife gets home to watch Captain Stinky lol) I am planning on doing the ether thing to see if it will crank, and will go ahead and clean out the carb while I am at it. Have you ever adjusted the valves in your Breeze, if yes then is the Yamaha valve adjusting tool required or can standard tools be used?
Thanx

I haven't, but it's an easy job. Just screw the cap off and roll the engine over until the rocker gets on the heel of the cam and adjust away. The only tools you need is a wrench to get the cap off and a wrench to pop the jab nut loose and a feeler gauge to see were your at. Oh, and a screw driver (wrench?) to adjust the rocker. (Like I said, I've never done this but most are the same so I can't tell you the exact tools)
One thing you might want to do is a compression test. You can get a base line and that helps to see how the health of your engine is doing.

Hi to all, I serviced the breeze and got it runnin like a champ. Only thing is I still here that clicking noise whenever it is in motion. When I had the chain and sprocket off and rotated the output/drive sprocket shaft by hand I could feel and hear the noise in the shaft at the same place every time (every 360 deg. rotation) what should I do? Or does anyone know what the fix maybe? Thanx!

My Son has an 04 raprtor 80. It wont start when it is cold. After it is warm it will start everytime. any suggestions? last time it did this I had just bought it used and had to put a new piston, Rings and have the jug honed. Do you think it could be someting as simple as a Valve adjustment. If Ihad to guess I would say he has probably put 1500+ miles on it since we originaly bought it 2 years ago. We ride alot around the farm.
