Raptor 660 wont start
Before tearing anything more apart, pour a little bit of gas or carb cleaner into the spark plug hole, then try to start it, if it starts then dies out, then you know you're either not getting fuel (be sure fuel is actually getting to the carb BEFORE blaming the carb) or you have a massive air leak-check the carb boots to be sure none of them popped off.
If it still won't start or fire even after doing the above, then look into the ignition system for a problem. I've heard of 660 motors having STATOR failures, I believe one of the symptoms is that you don't get spark while pushing the starter button, but do get spark after you release the starter button...wierd, huh?
EDIT, I forgot to mention these links to RickyStator.com if you find the stator is bad or suspect it is:
Pickup coil only to repair the original stator's faulty pick up coil

Complete new stator assembly with pick up coil:

You could email them for more info on their stators or on how to find out if yours is bad:

Yes the intake comming off could have caused the problem, (air fuel mixture to the Intake manifold), use the starter fluid and find out if you get it to kick or attempt to start. also, on top of your motor is the head, there are two screws that hold a plate down on the head, take those off and use either the back of a screwdriver or something not too hard to push on the intake and exaust valves, there are three there. If one of them has tons of freeplay you have broken one of the valve, intakes or something within the head. You could have possibly gotten a big gulp of sand in the motor....... In that case, it's rebuild time, it'll cost about $600.

I think you do have spark. its not suppose to be a constant flow of sparks, just one every 20th of a second or so. If your getting a few sparks, you do infact have spark. i would clean the carb completely first off. Also, make sure gas is flowing from your tank, through the line, to the carb. make sure your breather hose is flowing from your gas cap also, this can cause gas not to flow from the tank.
check those things and see what you get
