Default Raptor 660 wont start

I hope it lasts longer than your original one. Ricky Stator's is suppose to be superior quality and it produces more wattage even though it's over $100 cheaper! Their website seems to say that the pick-up coil is usually what fails, that's why they make it available separately for $39.

I had this same problem with my 660 after stalling it at the dunes, and tried pull starting it, checked the spark, fuel etc, to find hours later that both carbs had barely popped off the boots! It's hard to see but once you grab them you'll notice they're not attached to the boots very well! I secured them and it fired right up! I later read that this is a common problem with the rubber boots on the raptors, and will do it when ever you haul it while in gear or shut down while rolling in gear, causing it to pop through the carbs due to the high compression of the motor!

I hope this helps!

okay, here is an update:

I replaced the stator yesterday, and now i have a nice, consistant spark.

problem is, it still wont start, ill recheck all the carb boots again tonight. any other ideas. crazy that all these things can go wrong at once

here is another bit of info i forgot to add in the beginning, i ended up fliping it over while riding up olds in glamis, it flipped only once, and landed back on its wheels. i got on it, and it fired right up. rode it the next day for a few runs and thats when it died.
im going to play with a few things when i get home, namely check the carb boots again, and try the old spark plug just for sh|ts and giggles.

it has brand new oil in it, air filter is cleaned & oiled (k&n).

ive narrowed this down to a fuel problem. i sprayed some carb cleaner in the spark plug hole, hit the starter button and WAM! the thing fired right up. tearing apart the carb worries me....is it a detailed process?

Again I would check your Carb-to-intake boots-to-cylinder connections first. Your last post is starting to convince me more that you have popped your carbs off the intakes. The carbs usually don't just stop working, let a lone both at the same time! Just my opinion.

Good luck!

i did check the boots, and they are on there good, they have not popped off. since it started right up with carb cleaner i believe this is a fuel delivery problem.

well just so you know they do make a independant fuel tank you can buy pretty cheap that you can tie in to your fuel lines to help you fix your problem
