Default Tricks for removing stuck axle nuts

Well, extra leverage still wouldn't have done me any good, unless I had more weight on the back of the quad. Like maybe if I sat a volkswagen on the seat I wouldn't have lifted the whole rear end up, and been able to use that extra leverage. But sitting a small car on the back of a quad brings on a whole new list of complications... lol

just heat the heck out of the nuts, not much heat will actually transfer to the axle, definately not enough to damage it. think about it-if enough heat transferred to the axle to damage it then the axle would probably expand as much as the nut and the nut wouldn't get any looser!

The IR TNT 1/2 drive air impact is rated at 1000 ft lbs, that will take any nut off, its funny reading about you guys work on their own ATV, ha ha ha ha, last summer I was looking at a used dirt bike and the seller told me it had a fresh top end job and he did it himself ha ha ha ha I told him I was going to buy the bike but after you told me that I don't want it, ha ha ha you should have seen the look on his face, he even looked stupid ha ha ha ha

Default Stuck axle nuts suck.

Brace the rear end so it won't lift up. Or get a large person to sit on it. Or a couple medium peeps.

I used a cheater bar and socket and wedged it under the foot bar on the right side to break the left nut with a cheater bar and pipe wrench.

After first nut breaks brace like this to break other side with the cheater bar and pipe wrench.

PS....Use plenty of penetrating oil. And don't forget to get some new nuts. Have fun. Btw, I did not need to use heat and I broke them loose myself. And believe me those puppies were welded on. The key is bracing the ATV and the opposing side.
