When I press the gas 1/4 of the way it begins to stutter. I took the fuel tank off and drained it and replaced with new clean gas. I still have the same problem. It has about 500 hard miles on it and this is the first problem I have had with it. Can anyone tell me what I should look for to fix this? Thanks

 

Hows the air filter doing? Been cleaned yet?
Is everything stock and in place...like the air box lid?

 

Yes everything is stock. The air filter was good but the foam needed to be cleaned and the box & lid was dirty. I am going to clean the carb. jets and see if that could be the problem. Or is there something else I should check also?

 

judging by the dirty description, ill bet that a good cleaning will fix the problem. good luck man.

 

I got it fixed and ready to go. What I did was took out the carberetor went to the jets taken them out then sprayed with carberetor jet cleaner. I then sprayed the remainder of the carb. and put it back together. It now runs smooth and nomore stuttering or backfiring.

 

Get some seafoam to add to your gas tank , it's a fuel cleaner/stabilizer and will help keep your quad running good ; you can get the seafoam at O'Reallys, Auto Zone and Advance Auto Parts Stores ! I got mine from O'Reallys for $4.99 + tax , it may be more in your area ; depend's on your location i live in north west Ga. ! The seafoam is great stuff it will clean the entire fuel system , and also clean's the combustion chamber as well ! .....................williebee
