Default tips on oil drain plug

anyone got any tips on getting this SOB off? its for an 87 big bear. it's getting pretty worn since i can't find the correct socket for it. 3/4 is too big and 11/16 is too small. 19mm is too big and 18mm is too small. i've tried to get the outer circular edges with vice grips, channel locks and even a pipe wrench. the damn thing will not budge.

how the hell can i get this off without having to buy a new crankcase? please help!!!

holy **** it was 18mm. i had to hammer that socket onto it for nearly 5 minutes to get it to sit square/flush. you should have seen the tar that came out of this thing. this guy didn't maintain this quad at all. next thing to look at will be a knock that i get. its really only noticeable, at least to me, when i turn it off.

thanks for the help.

The clunk noise you get when you shut it off is probably the starter clutch. Don't worry about it.
