700 Griz idle speed

I have a new 700 griz, and upon delivery I noted the idle speed seemed too high. I was a little peeved that the idle screw was not easily reached, but removed the top cover, and lowered the speed to where it sounded right, but found that it would stall, and generally, not run with the lowered idle. The owners manual lists idle speed at 1550-1650rpm, and that seemed high, but I guess thats what it takes to work with the fuel injection. I also have a fuel injected warrior motorcycle, and many owners have also lowered the idle speed on them, only to find that they will die at every stoplight.

I haven't noticed any posts talking about linkage adjustments yet (I certainly may have missed them). Right now though I think mine is OK because the notch seems to line up with the "gear" just fine. Turning my idle down (that idle adjustment really is in a strange place BTW - I had to get the manual out to figure out how to do it) made enough of a difference in mine where it's fine the way it is (the shifting) right now. I've had several people tell me (before the idle adjustment) that it sounds like it was idling fast...
