Default 2005 kodiak 450 question

I know I've heard this somwhere before but it slips my memory. What doe's a flashing reverse indicator light mean? I had it up on the atv jack in neutral, wheels off and started it up as it warmed up and the rpms came up before I kicked the choke off the light started flashing. I cant find it in my owner's manual. Thanx for any response's
