I'm 56 and 205 lbs and my first purchased quad is 06 raptor 700. I was out ten minutes racing my son on his honda 450R and we tangled. I tore a calf muscle in my first ten minutes on my raptor. Lesson learned? Boots,knee/shin guard, helmet, riding pants, chest protector. Raptor has wided out rear 2 1/2 inches and same on front with offset wheels. nerf bar and lots of practice riding with my young grandsons gives me the confidence these machines demand. I now have the raptor chipped, K&N intake and curtis sparks full exhaust, and I am one damn fast grandpa out there on the dunes and on the trails.

Bottom line, protect your body, protect your ride, and get as much seat time as your life will allow. You will love this sport and do just fine.

Still got your raptor? I have a 500 scrambler 2x4 I would trade mine is really clean. Pretty much stock. It WILL pull the front end if you want to but big hills are not intimadating on it either.. My son just got a raptor and the power is so fun..
But I have been riding something off road since I could crawl on them. So maybe that is why it does not bother me for it to be light in the front end.. Let me know.

does the 660 have a screw on the throttle assembly that affects how far you can push the lever???, im sure that if you screwed that all the way in, it wouldnt be much more dangerous than driving a 350

get a Wolverine, sounds more your style,Plus living in Ecuador, think of all the kind of riding you are doing..A sporty 4x4 might be better for you IMO..

Im 47, I must of had a brain freeze and bought a red and white 05 660 raptor a mouth ago. Its has a after market adj. rear axle and every think else is stock and its for sale or ill trade for a 350 raptor, the 660 are for young expert riders only, I been riding dirt bikes since I was 8 and the 660 is to much for me and not fun. I have a 1988 warrior that I have for 12 years that I wanted to up grade and now I think at my age the 350 is perfect size and power for the woods.

Pualie1959

interested in a little tamer ride am looking to trade my 01 500 scrambler w/aaens clutch kit installed, plenty of smooth power.. Wanting to get a ATV similar to my sons 660 so we can ride the same atv so we can learn from each other.. The scrambler will go effertlessly where the 660 is really scarey to even try..

Let me know..
