I agree that the newer Cannondale does not look as good as the early pictures. But I do not agree with DSDave that they should stick to building bikes. I have a feeling that in a year or two the FX400 will make a major impact on quad racing and especially the ATV Nationals. I know this is a Yamaha forum and I think the Raptor is a great sport quad, but it appears the FX400 is geared more to the agressive riding and racing sector. Whether the FX400 is successful or not remains to be seen, but I at least applaude Cannondale for developing a quad that can be used on the track. Even on the Cannondale web site they talk about testing going on at multiple tracks. Now the Honda 400EX and Raptor are both good quads, but neither was developed at the race track! And yes I know the pure racers are not the biggest segment of the market, but neither is MX racing dirt bikes, but there is a huge selection of those.

I also liked the black quad better but another thing to keep in mind is the price. My dealer said no to cannondale because the out the door price will be almost 10,000. Who would spend that much on a quad built by a mountain bike company? Not me I'll take that extra 3,000 and put it into my Raptor.
