both ends are open on the hose from honda but you could seal one side up but then it would not vent really.

I posted a pic in my gallery to show where i put the bellows. Its from a suzuki rear diff. No more leaking. The picture was takin after about 2 minutes of riding on a cold day...notice how expanded it is already.

Cool pic! Did that attach right to the hose? Did you need to fab up an adapter?

And finally...do you have a part number?

My temp fix was to reroute the house so the end is over the rear swingarm tube. It drips, but at least it's not all over the hot engine.

Diff fluid is nasty stuff! Once it's on your engine, it takes some effor to remove.

It also smells bad when it gets hot.
All suzuki rear diff bellows have the same part number, ozark vinson eiger, doesnt matter which. One easily slips over the other...either the bellows goes over the vent hose, or vice versa. I just stiffened up the inner hose by breaking off a 1/8 inch vacumn fitting( Its plastic and barbed,) and used that inside to support a clamp squeezing the rubber pieces. It was like 14 bucks from the local suzuki dealer for the bellows, but worth it.

That's for sure! I had some hit the exhaust pipe...there's a smell you won't forget!

Cool. That's an option I may look into. It seems like a very easy install.

Glenn, I had the same problem on my 450. Stopped for a break with some friends and smelled gear oil. Then I saw it on the belt housing and thought maybe I had hit something like a gear oil bottle buried in the snow. I investigated a bit more that night when I was cleaning the machine up and saw that it actually came from the breather hose. It only happened once, but I think I might pickup a bellows for it. It looks like a good, clean fix. BTW, I see that you live in CT, interested in a ride at some point? We have a small group of fairly fast riders, if you want to, e-mail me for more detail.

Dave,
Let me know what you end up doing.

Have you checked out: http://www.cttrailusers.com/ ? We're trying to get some legal land here in CT to ride on.

I also hang out at: http://northeastatvers.com/

I'm always up for some riding!

As a matter of fact, I'm active in a local club. I'm a NETRA member and past club secratary for the Salmon River County Riders. We talk about the CTU and COALT at our meetings, seems that we've been working for legal places forever. Maybe someday. I'll be away for a couple of weeks, but when I return maybe a ride come be arranged?

I think the president from Salmon River came to one of the NOHVCC meetings we had back in December or January.
