Also more races will take place in a grassy area a little shorter than a football field. For perfomance i have a HMF slip-on w/quiet core,K&N,half air lid, clutch(not installed), and a smaller front sprocket. I was thinking of getting a bigger front sprocket maybe 14t., taking the quiet core out, a .430 web cam, and a higher compression piston, and maybe a dynatek cdi box. will this work?

Just for your info, today I raced a LTZ 400 with a 440 kit and a Yosi pipe. Thats the only mods he would admit to. Im sure he at least had a cam, too. We were neck & neck out of 4 races. There was a YFZ 450 racing, too. He would beat us by about 4 bike lengths in about 300 feet. You can see my mods on my page.

The piston pin end of the connecting rod has a bushing. You should measure this and the pin and check the clearance stated in your manual or piston spec sheet. You can... I know I shouldn't say this but if the pin goes in tight to the bushing or I should say there is no slop then you should be ok.... Note should.
Also I should add that the wrist pin bushing and pin does recieve engine oil from spash oil off of the cylinder wall and through the oil rings.

It is an honest work of art and there is more to it than I can tell you on a forum. Let an engine builder port them for you, it should run a little under $200. You can tell the builder which setup you are going to run and he will port the head accordingly. Please do not mess and let someone do it wrong. There is alot to it that most shops don't know about but will pretend they know.
I will recommend Mickey Dunlap (814-842-6159), he is probably the best there is for this. Please call him and discuss your situation and options. He is a good guy and he will tell you like it is. Alot of people mess this up!!!! I don't remember the setup you are plan on running, but depending on it, he may tell you that you don't even need them ported.
Yes, it may require a little more down time but it's worth getting right. Please take my advice, I am a mechanical engineer.

Simply said; if you throw enough dollars into any bike it'll beat the other bike. It's a matter of doing it right. And for us gear heads, we know that once my bro beats me down on his smaller CC bike we have no choice but to take advantage of our larger displacement, and simply step it up. Just be smart enough to know when you can go faster than you can ride; your done. Don't kill yourself..

Finally started today and got pretty far. Right when I stopped I had just pulled the stock piston out of the motor. and no wristpin bearing! Now it's just putting everything back together with the aftermarket parts tommorrow. and to the guy with all the number in his name,i'll try not to look back and hit a tree as i'm passing the KFX
