Default what would it take for my rap 350 to beat a ltz 400?

I want to be able to drag race a kfx 400 or an ltz 400 and beat it. It will take place in a long field so i will have to win with more top end. Also more races will take place in a grassy area a little shorter than a football field. For perfomance i have a HMF slip-on w/quiet core,K&N,half air lid, clutch(not installed), and a smaller front sprocket. I was thinking of getting a bigger front sprocket maybe 14t., taking the quiet core out, a .430 web cam, and a higher compression piston, and maybe a dynatek cdi box. will this work?

Do you want to beat stock 400s or modified ones? I would go with the 14 tooth sprocket if you want top end. The cam and piston is a must! Ive had good luck with the Webcams. I like JE pistons, 10.5:1 compression so you can still run pump gas. A good port and polish job will help alot, as well as getting larger valves like the Kibblewhites. Your bike shouldnt have any problem beating them, then its all up to your driving.

The ltz's and kfx's will be stock. A bigger sprocket looks good. As for the cam and piston, its just cash flow for that. But which one do i get first cam or piston, or do i get both at the same time?

The cam will give you more power than the piston, so Id go with that first if you do them separately. The cam is also easy to put in without having to pull the motor apart, unlike the piston.

Get the alba action kit for the raptor/warrior. They have the 10.75:1 JE piston with the MegaCycle .450" 276 duration cam and springs. Do some port work to make the head flow better for that higher lift cam. You'll loose some bottom end with that cam but the top end will rip. I would run the taller sprocket to take advantage of the added power. Put a good tune on the carb and this should give those 400's a run for there money.

Ive always been told a CDI box on a Warrior/Raptor 350 was a waste of money. Ive never hit the rev limiter on a Warrior-ever. Any other opinions on this?

Everything short of a stroker will prolly get you to tie it.

There is no rev limiter on the warrior or raptor. The rev limiter is floating the valves. Really though there is no need to rev the 350 that high... there is no power up there. What a CDI box will do for performance is alter timing your timing curve. But I'd rather spend that money on a degree key which is like $20 dollars or other upgrades.
