Default ultra-matic v-belt

hi all,

I ride a 06 wolverine 450 with 1600 miles on it now.. Ive noticed a slight vibration noise coming from the v-belt case.. the noise is louder on cold starting if I choke it high... is there anything I have to oil in there or check? iam gonna removed the casing later today and see if i can see anything wrong or out of place...maybe some dirt got into it...any suggestions?

There isn't anything that requires oiling inside the belt case. You might check to see the condition of the belt and measure the cross section on the top in mm to see if the belt is worn enough to warrant replacement. I have the specs at home and can post them up later.

Sounds like its time to relube the clutch weights in the primary, once you pop the cover off the front pulley, youll see the weights are probably dry, and all the grease has been flung to the outer inside diameter of the housing. Dont skimp on grease, it takes one ounce per weight, and use the ultramatic grease from yamaha.
