Default Warrior rev limiter.

Does my 2001 warrior have a stock rev limiter. Will it hurt that machine if i keep it pinned in 6th reved out. im always worried about that and Ive never reved it for to long cuz im afraid it will blow up. and i dont think i have ever hit a limiter.

I dont think a Warrior has a rev limiter. I have revved mine wide open in neutral before and it sounded like it was cutting out. It may have just been about to blow up! You can hold it wide open in 6th gear and it will never hit any kind of limiter. You wont blow it up, either, unless the engine is low in oil or your carb is running lean. I usually let off the throttle and get back on it after about a 1/4 mile just to give it a break.

ok thanks. i just wasnt sure because when u pin it in 6th it does sound like its revving really high and you feel the increase in vibration. I just dont want to damage the engine.

I believe there is a limiter, you will float the valves first (bad) before you hit the limiter though.

No, there is absolutely no rev limiter at all on the warrior, it's not built into the cdi's circuitry. When the valves float you know to let off.

It's not good for any engine to be held pinned at peak rpms for any duration, it wears everything out real quick. Ever wonder why a race car engine gets rebuilt after a 300 mile race? If you want to go fast for longer periods of time, gear it higher so you're not revving it out so high.
