Default Gas leaking out of overflows in carb on Warrior, help!

Just had my 99 Warrior in for service to clean the carbs, etc. The mechanic told me not to leave gas in the carb if it is going to sit more than 3 weeks. So, about 2 weeks ago I opened the drain screw and drained the gas out of the carb. Now when I went to start it last night to get ready to go riding this weekend gas just poured out of the top and bottom overflow tubes. Could it be the float is stuck? Help, what should I do. Another thing, the quad won't start and the gas runs out as soon as I turn the petcock on.

Thanks,
Nancy

Needle and seat is goooed up and/or stuck causing the float to stick open...you'll need to pull the carb and remove the float bowl and clean the needle and seat. pretty straight forward job.

yeah thats probably exactly what it is. just take it apart and clean the bowl and float out real good. you might as well just clean out the whole thing real good well your at it.

Default Gas leaking out of overflows in carb on Warrior, help!

This happened to me also after taking the bowl off and cleaning. When I put it back together and turned the gas on, it started running out of the lower overflow for a bit. And now when I go for a ride, when I stop and shut the quad off and then check the lower overflow, there is a little gas in the overflow hose. I then shake the hose to get out the gas that's in there and then it don't leak no more until I go for a ride and then stop and check and there is a little gas in the lower overflow hose again.

Is this normal?

I also have a problem when from an idle, I gun the throttle full blast really quick and it bogs. But if I ease the throttle to a higher idle then gun to full throttle, it doesn't bog. Any ideas?

Did u try the accelerator pump? inside the carb there is a silver straight up and down metal rod tht is supposed to have a spring on it make shure it is operating correctly or else the quad will bog whenm the throttle is punched because tht acc. pump feeds the carb with the xtra needed for when punching the throttle......

Ok. I know what you are talking about, but there was no spring. It was more like a rubber boot which is kind of springy. The bottom of that boot though, I don't know if that is supposed to just touch the bottom of the bowl or if it is supposed to be pushed down so it is recessed into the hole where that metal tube or rod comes up from.

I've seen a few exploded diagrams but they're not very good. Is the spring supposed to be down in the hole before the accelerator rod goes in or is it just supposed to slide over the accelerator rod and then the boot over the spring?

It is fixed, it ended up the float was stuck since I had emptied the gas out of the carb. A couple taps of the screwdrived handle fixed it. But unfortunately then my RV broke down and I didn't go riding afterall, what a disappointment! If it's not one vehicle, it's another! Thanks for everyone's help.
