Default Exhaust melting the oil tank?

A buddy of mine has a polaris predator 500 and put an hmf full exhaust on it. He's had the exhaust on it about one year now and the exhaust melted the stock oil tank and caused leaks and contamination. we had to put a new aluminum one on, but i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem because I was thinking about putting a full system on my raptor 700.

i assume he rejetted? if not, then hes running lean and that heats things up. if his jetting is ok, theres heat tape that will protect parts vulnerable from heat.

I think so as well. You need more gas to cool it off & you also have to reprogram the rappy if you wen't to a full exhaust.
Cascade Innovations makes heat wraps that slide onto your pipes for burn protection.

Yeah, he rejetted his predator with the jets that came with the exhaust. I'm pretty sure the jetting is correct on the bike, we put an aluminum oil tank on it and the hmf header would not fit so we had to put the stock head pipe back on. A rel pain in the a$$.
