Hey every one is so quick to point out the ds won the baja. Too bad it won simply to default and nothing more. The ratpor had a huge lead on it until the AFTERMARKET steering stem broke.( thas what happens on a real fast machine) parts get broke. If the ds is truly the better machine ALL around NOT JUST at the dunes, Then tell me why I ride every weekend at many different locations and ever since the ds came out I had not yet seen one out on the trails? I have seen 2 ds's here in ohio 1 at the dealer (still sitting there at 5999.00 cuz no one wants it and the other in the back of a pick up truck -not riding. Yet everywhere I ride I see alot of 400exs, banshees,r's raptors and even 300exs not one ds though. If that bike was so kick *** it would be everywhere out here. Trust me we can go to any dealer around here they have em in stock and selling for $5999 . BUt they are on the showroom floor not the trails

do the math and figure it out for yourselves
people are buying the raptor or 400ex
not a ds
and most of quit crying who best if you like a ds great.if you like the raptor cool. but don't say the mags suck and don't know anything just because you don't like what they have to say

400ex gone

The four Raptors lost the Baja mainly because they ALL had engine and/or transmission problems. None of them had aftermarket engines or transmissions. Please acquire facts before attempting a debate. Ignorance makes one look foolish. Thanx

You Ds owners are as big headed as your quads are heavy.First of all the suspention on the Raptor is awsome stock!!!!!Atleast equil to the ds650.When I had my DS I loved the suspention because it was so plush and soft. Then I got the 400ex and was not pleased with it at all. Then I got the Raptor and was happy again because the suspention felt just like the ds650.Soft and plush for long trail rides. The ONLY reason they changed the suspention in this test was to make the quads more equil in width for the dunes, since the DS was built for the dunes and raptor was built for just about everything. If you remember reading early articles when then raptor first came out everyone said the raptor suspention is awsome.I love it the way it is and im sure most others do also. The only people who would want to change it would be track racers and duners!!!!!!!!For me I just added four itp rims with an inch and a half offset on them and the machine is PERFECT.Not too wide for the trails a and not tippy at all.Dont forget guys the Raptor is an all around machine meant for all riding conditions. The DS is good for 2 things.Duning and wide open desert riding such as the Baha. And you guys are also wrong about the baja. The Raptor was kicking everyones *** and was way ahead of the DS until the aftermarket steering stem broke.I can also get you proof if you dont beleive me,I read it on some sight I just have to find it again.

I really don't see the point of comparing a Raptor with 2800 bucks into the suspension against a stock machine(DS). Say what you want, but if the tcs equipped Raptor doesn't outhandle every other stock machine something is very wrong. Every machine can benifit greatly from aftermarket suspension. Last months dirt wheels had a comparo of stock vs works shocks on the DS. But, if you are in the dunes, the modded Banshee's are the kings anyhow.

Hall he is saying that you can buy an axle and a-arms for a raptor and you will have the price of a ds650 stock and on top of that have the quality and durability of aftermarket parts.

This has to be the most pathetic bunch of posts i'v ever seen. Like more then a handfull of people has bought the raptor for retail price. Like the dealers arnt going to sell them for more considering they are selling just as fast as they are getting them in. So you cant say that there is an 800$ differnce. And if you do say it then why doesnt bombadier drop there listed price to like 6,400 and keep selling them for an even 7k? Yeah its stupid, why dont you pull your heads out of your asses and think about it for a min. Now dont reply to me crying how the "raptor is better" becuase i dont want to hear YOUR opinions. I mean if you have an opinion make it senceable and give it some thought. Dont just blert out stupid things like you all have been doing. It IS pathetic.
Then you all go on to say the ds is to heavy and wide. Well now can WE (ds owners) say the Raptor is to Narrow and light? yeah exactly, its stupid, we baught the ds for our riding conditions, not yours. You all think your so tuff talking all your trash on the KEYBOARD and not out racing or something on your quad.
YES the ds is a DIFFERNT machine and YES it requires time and effort to learn how it handles. Well bombadier ment for this quad to be "DIFFERNT" so why dont you people that buy it give it some effort and learn to ride it!! And for the people that bought them and sold them...i can tell one thing..and that thing is that you have no intent to race a fourwheeler or give good reason for us to think you are a good/experienced rider. You get a quad, you learn it, you ride it. I had a 300ex modified and When i first bought the ds i HATED the handleing and the way it felt. but i'm not a pansy and i didnt think to myself "I cant ride this, its to big, and i'm not strong enough" like somone else on here did, like when they made the comment that you had to be very strong to handle one of these ds's. Haha, this is so funny. Just listen to yourselves. Maybe you like the raptor more then the ds, and maybe you like the ds more then the raptor. But comone now, lets hear some senceable comments okay?

merry christmas

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE SAY THAT THE DS IS HARDER TO RIDE. IT IS NO DIFFERANT THAN THE RAPTOR OR ANY OTHER BIKE. YOU PEOPLE MUST NEVER RIDE QUADS OR SOMETHING.

ChrisDS650,
Oh really. I forgot I just felt like typing out of my ***. Give me a break. So your telling me that riding a 50inch wide 460 pound 650cc engin fourwheeler, is the same as a 42inch wide, 380pound fourwheeler? GIVE ME A BREAK. just use your head. Its got faster handling and you have to get use to the steering. COmon now you owned one. Oh yeah thats right, i'm sure you never even tried to learn it.
