RAPTOR vs. DS/Modified Comparison....Raptor Rules again!
#41
Sory Dlanders but the Raptor hat was smoking the DS650 really bad broke down because of a aftermarket steering stem. if that did not happen it would have destroyed the DS by alot of time. so know the facts before posting.

Why do people say it is so differant riding a DS than any other bike. So how much differance is it riding a recon than a Kodiak, or a mojave and a 400ex. You ride any bike for 5 minutes and you get the feel of it. I guess you need to stop typing out of your *** b/ I agree with ChrisDS650, and Im sure others do also.

first off your the one that needs to get your facts straight. Somone will come here andd show you what really happpened in baja with the ds and raptor. I know it wasnt the STEERING STEM that made that raptor lose. I recall all raptors having engin or tranny probs. But anyways. back to reality.
HOW can you post that the ds does not handle any differnt from another fourwheeler on the track? Sure if your riding down a smooth field..(like i'm sure thats all the riding you do)..then yeah there prob wouldnt be much differnce in the handling. When you get out on the track (try it sometime slick) the ds handles alot differnt then a 400ex, 300ex, banshee, ..... and so forth. The ds has alot of bumpsteer (unlike any other fourwheeler), its almost 70 pounds heavyer then its nearest competitior, its 9 inches wider, 3 inches taller. But yeah you could get off a 400ex and hope on the ds and automaticly know how to ride it. Why dont you get some experice and quit posting stupid things. It took me 3 years to be able to ride my 300ex as FAST as it would go. Sure maybe you ride your raptor "fast" but i guarentee that it can go faster then you are pushing it. (not just down the straigh aways either big guy). Fourwheelers require skill and the machine. But the rider needs to know how to ride the machine as fast as it would go to be considered "good". Point ends.
I dont want to fight with anyone, all i want to do is ride, but comone now, the ds is differnt then most machines, and if you havnt ridden one then dont post a reply to this becuase more then likley you wont know what your talking about.

You people are pathetic, for one dirtwheels was not comparing DS and Raptor for Baja riding, so even if the DS won once, How many times has Yamaha AND Honda crossed the line in first before this years race. The Big problem as I see it is that most of you people cant begin to admit that these quads are very closely configured, but still built for different applications, the application for which they compared was to try and give equivalent width, suspension travel, and power. Once they did the Raptor came out on top, why cant people just deal, Your DS won Baja, Big deal! The raptor won the Comparison again Big deal! Do you people ever go ride these bikes or do you let everyone else tell you how good of a rider you are on your bike.

I have rode all types of bikes including the DS, and have owned most high performance bike over the past 15 years, and after riding each for about 5-10 minutes you get the feel of the bike and can ride.
And I have had my Raptor about as fast as it goes, around corners, up hill, down hill etc. I am not afraid if I flip or wreck, done it so many times.
It took you 3 years to get your 300EX up to speed? wow
I am not trying to start a fight but tellin g it how it is. And if someone is experianced rider on any bike, it will take no time to get used to a bike (DS650).

Fearthis,
OKay man i'll belive your GOD on a fourwheeler. And i know your a cocky guy that wont go anywhere on a quad. Somone who says they know it all on a fourwheleer usally needs somone to show them what a good rider is. Just wait your time will come. now you cant try to get yourself out of this one, you already proved to be a cocky rider, and you dont deserve to go anywhere. Have some dignity.
In 10 min you wont be able to learn how to ride any fourwheeler either, i have no clue where you got that.

See fear you can make a post without attacking me or making fun of how i ride (ex: took me a few years to get use to the 300ex). its not that hard to have a half intellegent argument huh?
If you want to keep arguing then so be it. But i'm not up for it

Every quad is the best at something

The Bombardier DS650 is a piece of crap and take that from A guy who owned one.The ONLY thing it is good for is the DUNES and thats IT!!!!!!!I was so damm happy when I traded it in on a 400ex you would not beleive.Just stop posting how good the DS is when we all no that its just a P.O.S.Im not bashing your quad its just my personal opinion that I feel I would like to share. So please return to the Bomb forum where your fellow Bomb members will praise you.

Lets see. First of all you guys need to go back and re-read the article. They compared the two bikes with a Graydone Pipe and jet kit. Performance wise the two bikes performed the same according to DirtWheels. Now, suspensionwise for the dunes they had to put $2800. into the Raptor making it WIDE like the DS. In the end Dirtwheels liked the Raptor over the DS. Lets see, take the price difference between a DS and Raptor ($800.). Subtract that from $2800. That leaves $2000. bucks to put into the DS. I guarantee if Dirtwheels put the extra $2000. into the DS to make the money spent even, that the DS would be by far the choosen one. So you guys can say what you want because for the money they spent on the Raptor verses the DS , it should have been the favorite by far!! Think about it poeple!
