Clutch Belt questions for woly 450
hey guys I got my clutch apart and was looking at the belt and i like to replace it because it looks pretty worn and i surmerged the quad one and drained it and i think i burned up the belt tring to get back to my truck but anyway does the kodiak use the same belt?? dennis kirk has the listing for the 350 06-07 wolvy but not the 4x4. i refused to pay 141 bucks throught the dealer when i can get a goodyear belt for a 1/3 of the price. Thanks Anthony

No need for a new belt unless it has burt spot or is sitting too low in driven clutch. With the set up that yamaha uses you are not sapose to be able to burn the belt in the first place.
When you get water into the clutchs, it gets the grease in the drive clutch all over the place and is a pain to clean. Have even seen where mud and water got in clutchs and the belt was fine. Also can damage the rollers in the drive clutch.

I repacked mine when I installed the EPI clutch.
You should be able to inspect it but it will require disassembly.

the book im refering to is the dennis kirk catalog, i wanted the yamaha grease but the dealer wouldnt order it for me because there a bunch of a**holes but the belray grease i got is just like the factory stuff and its water proof and wont loose consistency so it wont thin out so it should be alright i let everyone know in an hour when i give it back together. thanks Anthony
