BLASTER?
#1
I have a 1997 Yamaha Blaster that sometimes does not want to start. Some days it starts on the first kick, and others I can kick and kick 20+ times and it wont start..I eventually end up using easy start which I dont like to do. I cant seem to figure out what the problem is. It is always stored at the same temperature. Can anyone help? thanks

Sounds like an electrical problem. Maybe a connector loose or a frayed wire. Try this, There are two wires going to the throttle box, Trace them back. They should go to a conector under the light. If this connector is dirty or loose your blaster will not start. What I did was remove this system altogether. Cut the wires below the connector and connect them together. Then remove the wires going to the throttle. Remove the throttle box lid and remove the points in there. I then put some silicone in the inlet where the wires were to prevent dirt from getting in there.
My Blaster starts first kick everytime.
2000 Blaster, FMF pipe and silencer, 28mm carb, removed oil injector, Works double rate shocks, ITP holeshots on Douglas .190, PEP steering stabilizer, K&N Filter, Modified air box. Active reeds, Race manifold, removed excess electricle, Baja skid plate and swing arm skid plate, DG front bumper.
