Has anyone out there actually ran these bikes side by side in a simple drag?

raptor has over 250 cc's on the 450, and its supposed to be the lightest sport/race quad out....yea, i'm curious

 

a honda 450 my bros 700 beat it in a drag race

 

raptor 700 kicks its ***. its a torqer

 

have the 700r raptor and will take almost any 450 in a drag race

 

I really hate these. . . which is faster threads but, I'm here so. . .

I've got a 3-mod 700 and I was right there running with a lightly modded YFZ450. He was probably a little quicker off the line but, up the dune neither of us pulled on the other.

As for a Pipe'd/air filter Y vs. a Rappy with the 3-mods. . . the Rappy is the faster bike up a steep dune drag. The only place I race.

With that being said. . . who cares? Your riding area may be different, etc. If you ride track, the YFZ is the better bike. I'm 6'2" and the Raptor is better for me for duning and comfort.

 

I have a raptor 700r and have beat almost every 450r out there. the only ones that have givin me any trouble are the modded yfz-450.

i have 2 friends with 04 and 05 yfz 450s both are modded on their own ways both give me a run for my money. i love my raptor its more roomy and more weight but with its shocks/width i can jump and land cleaner and handle better

its about tied and the cc difference dont matter you got 50lbs moreand wieght of rider. out of both my friends with 450's one i constant get off line and he runs me down other gets both us off line an it dies off in 4th cause way its geared

 

me and my brother both ride at the dunes and hes got trinity pipes computer airfilter and a cam iv seen him beat a couple modded 450s out there and he races the last to races there was 2 yfzs the new suzkui 450 the 450r and and basicly an asorment of those quads he got the the hole shot and came in second

 

Raptor is definitely not the lightest sport/race quad. All of the 450's have a good 40lbs advantange on the Raptor.

 

i'd have to say the raptor would take because its a bigger meaner bike even though the yfz and most other 450's are pretty much strictly performance there more for the track type races but for me the raptor is my choice
