Default GYTR Hi flow air filter onto stock raptor 700r = poor running

Can anyone help???

I have a stock 06 700 raptor, I have removed the stock baffle from the stock exhaust then added a GYTR hi flow air filter, since I have added the filter the bike coughs and slutters (backfireing into filter).

The bike will idle fine after it has been shut down for about 10 mins but after a minute or 2 of riding the missing starts again?

I have been told the stock ECU doesn 't require replacement for the addition of the air filter, could this be the problem or do I need to look at purchasing an adjustable power commander?

I have checked all electrical connections / sensors & everything seems to be as it should.

By removing the exhaust baffles and adding the freer flowing AF, you are now running lean, as the backfires attest. This can lead to serious engine damage. You need to change/reprogram the EFI fuel curve, and go back to stock till you do it.

You need a FI controller (PC lll/Dobeck). You cannot do any performance mods to the 700 without one. Running without one is the same as not rejetting a carbed quad after mods. They come kinda lean from the factory so you are probally really lean now.

Thanks for your relpys, I put it back to stock last night but it is still doing the same thing! I will take it to dealer & see what they have to say.

Seems rather odd given that its back to stock unless the stock FI unit has lost is program / factory mapping settings? If this is the case is there a simple process to reset to factory settings?

Unhook the battery to reset the stock sensors.

You may also need to run it a few minutes before it will start to act right with it back to stock.
