Default Head/Head-pipe problem *Update*

In a thread a couple days ago,I got myself into a big mess with my pipe and head..One of those stud bolts were seized into the head and on the other side I managed to strip the hole for the stud in the head bare ..

This is what I did, after much fighting with that seized stud bolt(I was ready to put the quad at the curb lol)I managed to get it to come out..Of coarse taking the threads inside the head with it ;(

So I went to the harware store and for 15.00 I bought a 5/16's tap kit and a couple bolts,I had to release the top of the upper arm to get the drill in on a straight line..Drilled out both bolt sockets going into the head to 5/16's ..Had to drill the connector on the head pipe holes to 1/2,so the 5/16's bolts could pass through freely..

Then used the tap tool to tap both bolt sockets on the head to 5/16's,I incerted a new crush gasket and then bolted the head pipe onto the head, very easy,I made sure to use thread-locker red for heat and high strengh on the 5/16's bolts I used to clamp the head pipe back on..

I then started the quad..Let me tell you the 350 Wolverine sound like roaring lion without a muffler at all on it lol..To test for leaks,I used a grill lighter and put the flame around the head pipe connector and no movement of the flame was detected,Then real fast I covered the end of the pipe and the flame still did not move at all(engine almost died though) So I figured it was sealed pretty good..

So now I just have to hope those bolts dont pull loose, then I win Yay lol

your probably all good, except for this... maybe use antiseize on the bolts instead of thread locker. i dont want you to have the same problem again!

I hope to NEVER take the head-pipe off again lol..If so there is still a good 1/2 inch of space to retap if needed lol..
