'97 Warrior, fried something.
#1
I found out the solenoid was the problem with my electric start & I was told to jump it (touching the two wires that connect to the solenoid) & it worked. I knew I shouldn't keep doing it but I did & now it does nothing. So my question is, what did I do? All help is greatly appreciated.

It doesnt hurt anything to jump across the terminals just as long as you dont let your jumper wire touch anything else, like your frame or something metal. You see, everytime you hit the starter button the solenoid does exactly what you did with the jumper wire, just not with all the sparks. You probably blew the fuse by the solenoid or the battery terminal is loose. I have never seen anybody blow anything up that was important by doing that.

i think Raptor450 is correct.
i had to jump my wifes warrior just like you did on a trip. if anything i think you touched the terminal to the frame and shorted to ground frying your fuse. easy to fix.

Just a thought, if your jumper wire was too small, it could have melted and broken inside the wire insulation. I would recommend using at least a 4 gauge wire for jumping a starter relay out.

I have had no luck, I charged the battery & still nothing. Any ideas?

if you put a new battery in it and it does not start, i would next check the fuse. it is on the left side next to the connectors above the rear wheel. if the fuse is good: if you have a volt meter, i would take a voltage reading across the terminals that you were jumping with the key in the off position. you should get 12 volts. if you do that is good. but i would check your fuse first. hope this helps you!
