are the diaphragms from the carbs good?

its sounds exactly like when your in reverse and the limiter kicks in only it dies...what exactly would i be looking at on the rev limiter?

It is flooding itself out, it is likely your imulsion tubes are worn & causing this. Replace both 1 for each carb.

Emulsion tubes are the needle jets. Worn out? Doubtful. Dirty? Sure.

Shouldn't be any of the RPM limiters because, as you said, "you can gun the throttle and it does what it normaly does(what it supposed to ha)". I have heard of a reverse limiter connection that was marginal, and it only lost contact with the swtich's connector at mid RPM due to vibration, so i'd still check, clean and tighten the reverse switch connector, just to eliminate it as an issue.

So, you are having a mid throttle issue, right? You say "started up the craptor today". How long had it sat previously? Was there ANY indication of similar issues before? Have you performed any modifiacations recently?

The pop from the carb could be backfires, indicating lean air/fuel ratio. A little more information will help in troubleshooting.
