yamaha warrior sputtering
2001 yamaha warrior new top end and valves done by a mechanic, hot cams stage 1 cam and a aftermarket cdi box. it runs at low rps like the choke is on (the choke is not on) then at mid it runs great, but then at hi rpm it seems like the choke is on again. it sputters and spit with a occasional back fire. does any one have any ideas im real tired of tinkering with it and just want to ride.
Thanks Joe

Could be jetting, could also be the cdi box you put on?? What brand box did you use?? Also check to make sure the parking break wires aren't touching, and the reverse lever switch is good, I've seen these problems before on a Warrior. I'll throw another one into the mix, ohm out your stator make sure it's putting out the proper power. To check the CDI just put your old box on if it's good this rule this out. If you put a aftermarket clutch perch on and cut the wires, make sure there not touching. Hope it all helps

a few wires were worn and touched so it messed up the cdi box the mechanic said. so i replaced the wires and put a new cdi in and it let it rev a lil more. but i dont think that was the problem, now im a honda person and when you switch the clutch perch you have to connect the wires for the safety. i did this also in the warior so ill check that now and will respond later thanks
