Default front differiential

I have a 05 Kodiak and I had it out the other day for a ride. I noticed that there was a clicking noise in the front left tire area. I'm thinking it is a differiential. If it is, is it hard to fix or is that a trip to the dealer? what can I do to be sure that is the problem? I do no it is not in the brake. Thanks for any help!!

Generly a differential or half shaft only clicks when turning if just starting to go bad. Is the boot on it torn to allow the grease to get out? Pretty uncommon for a new bike to have one go bad without reason. As for the fix, if your mechanicly inclined you can do it yourself. If it did lose its grease than it is probably too late to just regrease and reboot. Good luck.

It could be the CV joint. Is there any way you can get it up in the air so you can really listen and watch everything moving? A mechanics stethoscope is cheap and might help pin down where the noise is coming from.

I had my wife drive while I hung over the front rack, and the ckicking sound seems to be coming from the left front tire. When you're that close I hear the clicking almost all the time except when turning right. I pulled the boot loose and there is grease inside. Is there something inside the hub that could be the problem or do you think it is the cv joint?

Try turning left and right and accelerate and then even speed etc. Does it seem better or worse at certain times. I have heard in the past that CV joints will make more noise when turning under acceleration. What about going in reverse? Also are you sure there is nothing on the rotor that is clicking when it goes by the disk brake?
