Most of the time I only get one spark at the plug when I press the start button. But some times it will start right up and run for 15-20 mins before it shutts off. the ignition coil tested good.The source and pickup coil have just been replaced. Does this sound like a CDI problem? Thanks for your help.

 

what are you doing working on a moto-4 when you have all of those ATC's to play with?jk The next thing I would check would be the stator.

 

what year is it on my 86 225, it would do the same thing and i found out that the hot wire that goes to the battery was inbetween the teminal and the posotive wire. it was also loose. it switched them around and tightened them up and she ran great. but it might not be the same for you because my sister has an 88 200 and it doesn't have the seperate hot wire.
