2000 Kodiak 1 Year Anniversary

I love mine, but have had a few problems:
-Rear pads lasted an astounding 3 months.
-Hates water
-Front hood buzzes like a hornet's nest
-My headlights seemed to have taken a dive recently.
-If you sneeze on the front bumper, it folds. I'm on my third one.
-Dunlops were junk, installed BearClaws, very happy with them.
-Choke freezes, have to let the engine warm up enough to make heat to unstick it.

Purchased my Y2Kodiak March of 2000, and have had very few problems. Lights most recently gave me difficulties, strange problems but seemed to be fixed OK with a new bulb. I have been smelling antifreeze the last couple of times out, but levels are good. Got the belt wet once, but not in particlarly deep water. I guess I went in a little fast and got some splashing into the intake. Brakes still good. No problems with choke.
Will have the dealer check the waterpump seals re the antifreeze smell.

I've had my 2000 Kodiak since June 15th. My only complaint would be brake pad life--20 hours for the rears and 40 hours for the fronts. I'm on my 4th or so set and keep running OEM's. I'll try EBC's next but other than brake life (they work well), the Kodiak's seen some real action and keeps coming back for more. It gets cold here in Mass. and I still haven't used the choke to get it started.

Lets see,
- Rear pads wore out 400 miles replaced with EBC.
- rear rack couldn't hold a after market gas can rack without bending backwards. Took rack to welding shop for reinforcing work and gas can rack works great. Welder told me the tubing of the rear rack is very thin walled. earlier ATV years had heavier tubing.
- Black hood won't stay clip to tank cover near speedo cluster. Dealer replaced under warranty.
-Manual choke works great here in the U P.
-replaced Dunlops with Kenda Bear Claws.
- Performance for me is fine since I'am almost 50. Ha Ha

sounds like my problems are pretty common. with all the plowing I've been doing this winter the 4WD system is showing it's flaws, what damn good is giving power to the wheel with no traction anyway?
ugh
