IS A BANSHEE WHAT I REALLY WANT
#2
if you love 2 strokes and your dedicated to the yamaha product, then the banshee is your only choice. However, you need to base your decision on the type of riding you do and the type of turf you prefer. I bought a banshee and did all the typical "tim allen" bigger is better mods to it and later "bit the bullet" and come to the realization that i had built a machine perfect for wide open screamer sessions but completely inadequate for the 90% of trail riding i do. i traded it for a thumper. keep in mind too that a stock banshee's gonna double the output of that little blaster your tool'n around now. dont bite off more than you can chew.

just like the person said above:
i will be buying a atv soon to. i was thinking banshee. but started thinking i ride woods mostly and a old railroad track. i really dont think i need the power of the banshee for the type of riding i do. so i started thinking 400ex. but i can get a banshee for around $3500 the 400ex hovers near $4500.00 which is out of my range. so i am still in a delimma.

yeah, you have to decide what kind of riding you do most and what kind of power you want. If you love 2 -strokes, bet the banshee.

My banshee was MINT in the wide open flat where you could just put the hammer down, unfortunatly the shee only lasted about 20 minutes or so, so I really do not have a say.. but it went like crap on the trails, thats where it blew up, dont know if it was the terrain/mechanical/or me giving it the gears but it diddnt last an hour, was quite scary on the trail also, at least a blaster you can go slow, the shee was fast or faster...

Banshees are real good!!
Even in the woods, it's really great. Being a twin, it's more "stable", won't stall even when you're at low rpm. I ride often in a very tight wood trail, 1st gear, right above idle, and no trouble. Power? With stock pipes, there's no problem...and don't you have the choice between full throttle and half? Can't you decide if you want to accelerate at the max of the machine or just enough to reach easily the next curve?
You can afford a banshee, get the myth! It's a very good trail machine. The only defaults are no reverse and premix. I'm used to this and love my shee. I can go almost all places a 4x4 scrambler can...well sometimes some pushing is welcome, but I can do tons of things, even mudding, and if you have the oportunity to ride in snow, you'll have blast!
