steel brackets....

problem is I may need to reinforce a bit.... they seem to be flexing under heavy load... A steel backing plate that bolts up to it will fix this problem

i will post pics shortly...

2 problems i will mention... if you use warrior discs in the front you will need to fabricate brackets that bolt to the spindles.... make sure you use a heavy gauge hardened steel that dosent flex...

also you will need to weld 2 brackets onto the rear swing arm and create a pivot with the yz250 motor...

another thing ive found... the 250 powerplant is monsterous... I would seriously remove most of the plastic on the bike as this causes some serious rumbling vibration sounds... tank plastic is ok but the plastic fenders need to go in the front as the resonate all the vibration as sound..... a bit annoying,

Another thing is mounting the radiator... I mounted behind the bumper however now after some consideration I think i will mount under the nose plastic on the blaster for better protection along with look.... the nose area up by your bars is vented so it should work well.... also the yz250 motor has plenty of room in the blaster frame so heat issues arent there... you dont need both radiators... just one half... I have tested temps and it gets no hotter then 210F

asside from all that you should be fine...

the steering stem i have noticed feels different ... im not sure if using a warrior steering stem was good or bad, i do notice i have a looser steer then before.

The bigger wheels really help ALOT,

My friend built a RM250 Blaster as well. He has a FMF full pipe and im guessing his HP numbers are close to yours. There are some pics of t in my profile.

What do you mean create a pivot point for the motor? What throttle cable did you use?

indi360:

I'm in the middle of the same swap. 89 blaster/91 yz250, warrior f/brakes, works f/shocks, blaster swingarm +4", Z400 r/shock.
What sprocket sizes did you end up using? I ordered a 16t for the front. Think that'll be too tall? My son weighs about 130lbs.

Thanks
YZ Otis
