Default Is it better...?

Is it better performance wise to have larger or smaller tires?

Acceleration wise smaller tires would be better. If you do mud riding larger tires would be better. Depends on your definition of performance.

On a Warrior, 20" tires are best for all-around performance and decent ground clearance. 22" tires are too heavy for performance but great for clearance and 18" tires will kill your ground clearance. The factory 22" balloon tires are great for clearance but suck for performance. If you want speed and handling, burn them and get some 20" that are flat across the tread like the Holeshot GNCC or the ITP Trac-Star.
