wont be buying another yamaha
well, it pains me to say that i wont be buying another yamaha in my lifetime unless someone pays me. you ask why? well, i have an 07 grizzly 450. and right now, i havnt riden it in over a month and a half. its been in the shop for 3 weeks as of today, and the dealer says hopefully by monday it'll be done, im not countin on it because they said by the end of this week last week. its in the shop because the drive shaft oil seal broke, and some darn switch that controls the dif lock and 4x4 light is faulty. this is the 4th time this quad has visited the shop. the first time, the shifter rod fell off, "OOPS i forgot to tighten it", the second time, because i found about 6 missing bolts, who knows how many more arn't there. and the third, because my brakes were gone after 200 miles(metal on metal) and right now would be the fourth. i guess the reason the quad has been in the shop so long is because the factory manual had the wrong part number listed, so when the dealer ordered it, they got the wrong thing. so they had to re-order it. talk about quality factory manuals. im gonna be honest, i love the machine, its great. but the quality is just...words cant describe....espescially for 6200 dollars. if your interested in buying it, let me know. ill sell it for 5500, oh its got a 2.5 warn winch on it, that works great. thanks for reading, just wanted to blow a little steam

Sounds like you are being a bit too harsh on the machine and yamaha - and not harsh enough on who put it together (your dealer).
Where ever you bought it from, they put it together (somewhat). Sounds to me like the build mechanic didn't do his job well at all.
Bring the machine to another dealer- have them go over it. Then keep it.

More power to ya,
Obviously its your right to buy whatever you want for whayever reasons you want.
But dont think for a minute that other manufacturers dont have their problems too.
ATVs are mechanical items, their gonna have problems.
Their all designed and assembled by human beings and as we all know, humans make mistakes. Nothing is perfect.
So....... Good luck with that.

well, it was assembled in conneticut and then shipped to the dealer. but i used to have an 04 recon and i beat the crap out of that little thing and it held up, it did break when i did something wrong, like bent the rear axle. but i would rather buy another honda. its just irratating the fact that i pay 6000 dollars for something brand new, and its full of defects. oh, i think i failed to mention, im 17 years old, ive worked since i was 13 and saved a ton of money, thats how i bought this quad. and yes, i know humans make mistakes. but, why didnt it get looked over after it was assembled , is it to hard to notice that theres stuff missing?
