Hey guys, have an 07 Griz 450.
Had a Kodiak 450 for about 3 1/2 years, put 3600miles on it.

I want to adjust the valves myself, as I think the dealers are ripoffs.
From what I can tell - I need a set of feeler gauges, a tappet adjuster, and
basic tools.

I can't find any specific instructions for this quad. I did find some specs for it,
and I am sure I can call the dealer and ask for the lash adjustment.

I am good with tools... I just wish I had the proper repair manual and I don't have
the cash to just get one. It seems like a simple job - but a job I want to do right.
There are many guides for valve jobs online, but none for this specific motor, from
what I've seen.

Any tips guys?

I am sure that the valves on the kodiak and grizz will both be the same adjustment as on the wolverine 450 since they share the same motor. I will look up the specs tomorrow for it and post them.

Get ready to pull all the plastics, gas tank, and everything else out of the way to get at them. Is the kodiak watercooled or aircooled? That would be the only way I would see a possible difference in the adjustment specs.

The cover on the left side(while sitting on it) will have to come off so that you can get access to the timing plug(slotted screwdriver) and then just find your timing mark on the crank, and the cover for the camshaft so you can see the timing for each valve to be set at.
