Check the parking brake mechanism and the switches at the clutch lever. I would recomend just getting rid of all that useless crap.

Older warriors have an issue with grounds in their electical systems....Soemthing in teh back of my mind says it was centered around teh kill switches or something like that.... You might try something there. Plus Yamaha are notorious for carb float needles sticking. You might want to take a look at the jets etc and spray some cleaner around. Do the cheap stuff first.

what would make it spit and sputter when you take it out on the road but not when your in the dirt?</end quote></div>
If you stab the gas on the road, the engine could flood, because the engine cant spin up fast enough(Tires arent spinnin) to suck in enough air to counteract the fuel from the accelerator pump.
What happens if you slowly roll on the throttle?

My old raptor 80 has done that very same thing several times. I ended up having to clean the carb and there was something clogging the jets. Dirt and stuff got in either from bad gas or crappy (CRAPPY) air filter. My air filtter was in front too so all the mud and stuff flew right into it. Anyways, i would take a look at the carb and make sure you can see through the jets.
