Default Carb needle issues

I am having problems with my jet needle holder, the plastic retainer that holds the needle in place. It seems to keep poping off. My raptor will be running great, then all of a sudden it will just fall on it face. I pull the vacuum chamber cover off and that holder is bouncing around. Should i go get a new piston valve, thinking the old one is worn out(not holding on tightly to that retainer). Any insight would be great, thanks, Terry

I am not sure what you mean, the needle it's self has the c clip, I am having troubles with that white plastic holder that keeps the needle down. It has an o-ring on it and pushes down and clips in to the piston valve(black diaphram)

Default Carb needle issues

I don't know what the deal is with Yamaha's carbs... I have 3 Yammys in the shed, and have owned 5 over all. I also have a few Hondas in there as well. I consistantly have issues with carbs on all my Yamahas.. and have not had a single problem with the Hondas. For some reason, I always have problems with stuck float needles, and gummed up carbs on the Yamahas while the ondas just keep going. I sure wish Yamaha would take note and fix this issue, as I really love my Yamahas other wise. I use the Stabil, service the Air Filters etc.. and still have issues. The Service manager says bad gas... but when I fill teh Handas from teh same pump on teh same day, and they don't have issues, I am not buying that...

Good luck on your issue.
