I am having another problem with the 2004 Raptor 660. Whenever I go to Reverse it spits and sputters and don't want to move at all. This happened to me earlier in all gears and I disconnected the emergency brake and fixed the problem. Now, it only happens in reverse. Reverse switch bad? Please give me your take on this. Just started happening....

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 02 660R RAPTOR THERE IS 2 WIRES ON THE HANDLE BARS WHERE THE FRONT BRAKES ARE PROBABLY THE PARK BRAKE ARM THAT MOVES WHEN U PUT THE PARK BRAKE ON IS NOT PUSHED ALL THE WAY BACK
IF I PUT MY PARK BRAKE ON AND TRY TO REV THE ENGINE IT SPITS AND SPUTTERS

SO MAKE SURE THE LEVER THAT ENGAGES THE PARK BRAKE IS NOT PUSHED OUT ANY

HOPE I MADE SENSE AND THIS HELPS YOU LET ME KNOW

 

THER IS A REV LIMITER ON IT WHEN U GO 2 REVERSE
IT MIGHT BE GOING BAD

 

thats the rev limiter...there are ways to bypass it with kits you can buy...or you can do it yourself by splicing wires...someone should know how this is done....

 

That's your reverse rev limiter kicking in, I put a rev limiter bypass on my 02, works great, you can buy them online.
