Custom Grizzly 450 Footwell Rock Rails / Skid Plates
Guys,
My custom footwell rock-rails/skid plates are done!! Not completely mounted as my knurled neck carriage bolts are backordered from McMaster-Carr. But you can see the pictures. I made them out of 3/16" (0.190") thick 5052 Aluminum... probably could have used 1/8" but that is what Yamaha and most others use and they get beat down quicker... lol..
Hopefully I will get the bolts soon so I can finish these
Next is mocking up a front skid / bash plate and Rear a-arm guards Afteall I do have access a sheetmetal shop at work... well and my buddies love making easy stuff like this in Solidworks.. it is pretty sweet deal ... I bring them the stock.. and when they have time they bend it up:-) The AL to make both skids only cost $35

Yeah man, looks good. Just shows what someone can do with a little brain power and access to these types of resources.</end quote></div>
Thanks - I am probably going to put a lift on it too... been really debating it.. but with all the technical stuff I do / rocks I think it would help.. I just don't want it to get too tippy. I plan on staying with Stock rims but 25" Bighorn tires this summer.
As far as the shop goes - yea it is a sweet deal! I am going to give the guy in the metal shop a home depot gift card for his time and troubles.

No, I used all factory attachment points for the floorboards.
