Timberwolf 250 puttering out
Just signed up for the forum and I am pretty Clueless about off roading. I was given a 1996 250 2x4 Timberwolf and I have used it to go Ice fishing. I have developed a problem and I am sick of being stranded on the ICE.
Initially the machine starts and runs good when I have had the problem, it has been warmed up and working for 10 to 15 minutes when all of a sudden it makes this kind of popping backfiring noise and dies, then refuses to start untill I get it back to a warm garage, then it is like nothing happened.
Any clue on where I should look or adjustments I should make. Also, looking for a good wrencher in the Detroit area?
Sorry about the long post. Hoping that I can get a good direction on fixing the problem.

Gas Cap vent, and fuel shut off valve clean?
debris in fuel bowl?
Valve adjustment (Too tight when engine comes to temp?)
Believe it or not I had an intermitent problem and it was the cap vent. Yours seems to be when the engine reaches operating temp.
Good luck
