Dynatek cdi

There is some sort of electronic restriction that won't allow you shift without the clutch engaged. The CDI overrides that.
To shift all you gotta do is match up the RPM's with the gear. It's very easy. When you lift the gear shifter up it will pop out of the gear you're in....at the same time you let off the gas and your RPM's drop. As your RPM's drop the engine speed will eventually mesh up with the gear you are shifting into. You'll feel resistance on the shifter then suddenly it will pop into gear. When downshifting you give a little gas between gears to get them to mesh.
Keep in mind this all happens in a fraction of a second. This is how my Dad used to drive semi's and he taught me how to do it on a stick shift Jeep Cherokee when I was 16. You can do this on any vehicle with a manual clutch as long as there is not an electronic restriction like there is on most newer sport ATV's. That CDI gets rid of that restriction.
You can't shift quite as fast as you would with a clutch but it's not much slower.
