Default 06 wolverine 450 problems

Hey guys, Today I went riding and something is kinda worrying me. I was going through water around 8in deep around 15-20 mph, and got soaked. But After i did that I took a break and about 15 min later i got on and it started strong, but after I went up a little ramp/bump I lost most power. I could only go around 8 mph and when I tryed to gas it, it just bogged down. Then I took it back and took off the seat and look at the air filter/intake. It looked like there was some dry mud residue on the side of the box the air cleaner sits in. So then after leting it sit for awile/driving it around in circles, slowley I then let it idle and it was still the same way. Then another 30 min went by and I started it and it worked fine. So then After i took it out i was on the trails it did it again(not going it alot of water), and then it came back doing the same thing. So then I choked it fully and then i could go around 20mph max.(still bogging down). SO i went to some steep little hill things and after alittle of that it went back to full power. Then after that i was doing some power slides and it went back to no power. And it went bak to power, then no power.

So my question is do you think that there is something in the carb that shouldn't be there? Do we need to clean the carb? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks alot

i have had this happen to my big bear 2-3 times. I would speed threw like 3-4 foot water puddles that were huge and i'd hit them at like 45MPH and i'd get soaked and it was all fun.....and then one day it started bogging and doing exactly what yours is doing. i stopped and looked at it and it was just draining water like no end......i just rode it slowly and finally it would pull outta it only it was annoying cause it took a lil while for it to pull outta it. Just run it and give it time to clean stuff out

ive had a similar problem with my wolvy.try pulling the plug on the right side right above the floor board, this plug is so if you go through deep water you pull this out and let the water drain. another thing is you might have gotten a tad bit of water in the gas tank because that happend to me once and all you do is just put more gas in it or run it clear empty. and also another thing is try cleaning the v-tube because i know thats collects alot of dirt/mud, water, and all kinds of stuff. all this stuff is in the manual if you need help

a v belt is where dust, mud, and water may collect inside and make your atv run slower or may make it seem to have less power. to fix this remove the belt and clean it. the manual should say how to do this or your local dealer can tell you.

Try draining the float bowl, my guess, is there is water in the bottom of it.
