Tap on the starter while trying to start it and see what happens. A had a load of troubles with the starter system on my Warrior and ended up with a weak battery and starter, which made it a PITA to diagnose.

Default HELP!! Starter questions

i am thinking it is a weak battery and bad solenoid.

when i plug a jumper cable to the battery, it turns over a little bit easier but still get a bunch of clicking for the solenoid. after a couple of short burst attempts the atv will start up with the electric starter.

once i remove the jumper cables it will be weak again and still get a bunch of clicking for the solenoid.

Ok, so i'm gonna ask the same damn question again... what are you jumping it from? One of those stupid little jump packs or are you jumping it from a car battery?

I doubt it's your solenoid at this point. Usually either a solenoid works perfectly, or it doesn't do anything at all. I've never seen one that just kinda worked like you're seeing.

I am thinking the same thing. At this point it really just sounds like a weak battery; dependent on the jump source.

i used one of those sears craftsman battery charger/jump starter that you plug in to an electric outlet. when i used that to jump start it and held in the starter button then i hear the solenoid just clicking and starter will turn once in awhile. when i press the starter button in bursts then after several attempts it will finally start.

Sounds like you just have a dead battery and nothing else. Those plug in jump starters really don't have near enough power to jump start a dead battery on their power alone. Try jumping it off a car or lawn mower or something, or just take the battery to an auto parts store and get it load tested such we've already suggested...
